VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations in Aldbourne

Join us in Aldbourne from the 3rd to the 5th of May as we come together to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. Get ready for a weekend packed with history, community, and celebration!

We’re bringing the village to life with a full schedule of events to honour the sacrifices made during WWII and celebrate the peace that followed. Expect immersive history re-enactments, military convoys rolling through the village, and some incredible WW2 exhibitions.

There’ll be live music throughout, including a big band dance at the War Memorial Hall that will transport you straight back to the 1940s. We’ll also be lighting a beacon and raising the flag to pay tribute to those who served, with church services and bell ringing adding to the commemorations.

Whether you have a personal connection to Aldbourne’s wartime history or just want to be part of something special, this weekend is not to be missed.

VE day celebrations

The festivities will include a grand parade from Littlecote House, showcasing period uniforms and honouring the bravery of our veterans.

Palmers Field will host a camping area for those wishing to immerse themselves fully in the weekend experience.

History enthusiasts will be thrilled by a remarkable display of military vehicles, offering a close-up look at the machines that played a vital role during the war.

Don’t miss this unforgettable event as Aldbourne marks this historic milestone with pride and reverence. Everyone is welcome!
